Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument transfer, suctioning, and patient positioning
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict OSHA compliance protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with digital imaging technology
- Manage patient scheduling, recall systems, and digital chart documentation
- Provide chairside assistance during restorative and cosmetic procedures
- Deliver post-operative instructions and manage inventory of dental supplies
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or X-ray license in New York State
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography (DEXIS/Sirona preferred)
- Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Exceptional communication skills and patient rapport abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
