Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws following strict aseptic protocols
- Process and label specimens for laboratory testing with meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA
- Operate and troubleshoot phlebotomy equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Provide patient education on blood collection procedures and pre-test requirements
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure timely specimen processing
- Adhere to infection control standards and waste management protocols
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- 1+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment
- Basic computer literacy for medical record systems
