Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following CLIA and OSHA standards
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Utilize EHR systems for accurate documentation and patient record management
- Provide patient education on procedures and ensure comfort during collection
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment in collection areas
- Collaborate with lab and clinical teams for seamless workflow
- Adhere to infection control protocols and waste management procedures
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (PTC) or equivalent
- 1+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience in a hospital or lab setting
- BLS/CPR certification from a recognized provider
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and specimen processing software
- Exceptional communication skills and cultural sensitivity
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred
- Successful background check and drug screening required
