Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Process, label, and transport specimens accurately to the laboratory
- Maintain sterile equipment and proper specimen handling procedures
- Provide patient education and comfort during blood draw procedures
- Verify patient identification and maintain accurate medical records
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure efficient workflow
- Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA regulations
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (e.g., ASCP, AMT, or NHA)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid Texas state phlebotomy license
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal callbacks
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Current CPR/BLS certification
