Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, infection control measures, and laboratory standards.
- Label, log, and transport specimens to the laboratory for analysis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and nursing staff to ensure seamless care.
- Assist in the daily operations of the phlebotomy department and manage inventory of supplies.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong manual dexterity and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
