Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures using provided equipment
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and OSHA standards
- Verify patient identity and maintain accurate medical records
- Operate automated analyzers and maintain equipment calibration
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure efficient specimen flow
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficient in vacuum tube systems and microcollection techniques
- Strong attention to detail and infection control protocols
- Ability to work in fast-paced medical environments
- Valid Maryland phlebotomy license
