Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment and instruments for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced surgical equipment including endoscopic and robotic systems
- Perform sterile processing and sterilization of surgical instruments following OSHA standards
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment within the OR suite
- Document equipment usage and maintenance in electronic health records
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care surgical setting
- Proficiency in operating advanced surgical equipment (e.g., da Vinci, Harmonic scalpel)
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and infection control protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Current BLS certification
