Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Manage complex insurance claim denials and appeals with 95% resolution rate
- Conduct thorough account reconciliations and AR follow-up for high-volume cases
- Ensure HIPAA compliance in all billing documentation and processes
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies and optimize revenue
- Generate monthly performance reports for departmental review
- Maintain updated knowledge of payer policies and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- 5+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital or large clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credentials required
- Expert knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines
- Advanced proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume accounts ($1M+ AR)
