Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following strict safety protocols
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile equipment and clean workstations per OSHA guidelines
- Provide patient education during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure timely specimen transport
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or AMT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Valid CPR certification
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling protocols
- Background check and drug screen required
