Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen processing with precision
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA and CLIA compliance protocols
- Provide patient education and comfort during blood collection procedures
- Maintain accurate specimen labeling and chain-of-custody documentation
- Operate automated laboratory equipment (analyzers, centrifuges)
- Collaborate with laboratory and clinical teams for seamless patient care
- Participate in quality control initiatives and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills for diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinical environments
- Basic computer proficiency for lab information systems
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or obtain within 30 days)
