Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone and in-person patient assessments to determine medical urgency
- Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize patient cases according to acuity levels
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop appropriate care plans
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Provide patient education and discharge instructions
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Respond effectively to mass casualty and emergency situations
Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license (or compact state license)
- Minimum 2 years emergency/urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Exceptional communication and de-escalation abilities
- Experience with Epic EHR systems preferred
- Ability to work independently and in high-stress environments
- Commitment to cultural competency in diverse patient populations
