Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures adhering to OSHA and CLIA standards
- Process and label specimens accurately with meticulous attention to patient identification protocols
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked collection areas and equipment
- Utilize LIS (Laboratory Information System) for specimen tracking and data entry
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with nursing staff and laboratory personnel for seamless workflow
- Follow strict HIPAA compliance protocols for patient confidentiality
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT or PBT)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience in a hospital or lab setting
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen handling
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
