Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA standards
- Maintain sterile equipment and exam areas per infection control protocols
- Verify patient identification and document procedures in EHR systems
- Collaborate with lab staff to ensure timely specimen processing
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation and procedure details
- Adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and biohazard protocols
Qualifications
- Current Hawaii Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- BLS/CPR certification (or obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency with electronic health records (Epic/EMR preferred)
