Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Verify patient identity and accurately label all specimens to prevent mix-ups.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols, OSHA standards, and laboratory safety procedures.
- Process, label, and transport blood samples to the laboratory for analysis in a timely manner.
- Greet patients warmly, answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service throughout the collection process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sanitizing phlebotomy chairs and equipment.
- Assist with data entry and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification (CPT1) required.
- Active and valid state license to practice phlebotomy in Nevada.
- Previous clinical experience in a hospital, clinic, or laboratory setting is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) accurately.
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate and professional bedside manner.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to navigate electronic medical records systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
