Responsibilities

  • Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures on patients of all ages with minimal discomfort and maximum safety.
  • Verify patient identities and accurately label specimens according to laboratory protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and functioning correctly.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxiety and explain procedures clearly.
  • Process and transport blood samples to the laboratory for analysis in a timely manner.
  • Adhere strictly to all HIPAA regulations and infection control policies.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as updating patient records and scheduling appointments.

Qualifications

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a clinical setting (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus.
