Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure proper labeling and handling of all specimens according to laboratory protocols.
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety standards (OSHA guidelines).
- Process and log blood samples into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) accurately.
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
