Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process through effective communication.
- Label, process, and transport biological specimens accurately to the laboratory.
- Adhere strictly to HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA regulations regarding patient privacy and safety.
- Manage and inventory blood collection supplies, ensuring the work area remains sterile and organized.
- Document patient information accurately into the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Assist with clerical duties and front desk operations as needed.
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Certification (CPT, ASPT, NCPT, or equivalent) required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high accuracy in sample handling.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to lift and stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
