Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA protocols
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and inventory management systems
- Train patients on pre-test procedures and provide emotional support during blood draws
- Collaborate with physicians and lab staff to ensure seamless workflow
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and infection control protocols
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuing education
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or lab setting
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and specimen processing
