Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens according to HIPAA regulations
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control protocols
- Verify patient identification and prepare samples for testing
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with lab technologists and medical staff
- Train new phlebotomy staff on best practices
Qualifications
- Active New York State Phlebotomy Technician certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in fast-paced environment
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal complications
- Strong interpersonal and patient communication abilities
- Proficiency with LIS/HIS systems
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
