Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments according to procedure protocols
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Monitor inventory and sterilization equipment to ensure regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for seamless patient care coordination
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain operating room equipment and troubleshoot technical issues
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- BLS certification with current AHA provider status
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic technique
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Tennessee state surgical tech license (or eligible)
