Responsibilities
- Perform Venipuncture: Safely draw blood samples from patients using venipuncture and micro-collection techniques.
- Patient Interaction: Verify patient identity, explain procedures to ensure comfort, and answer patient questions.
- Specimen Handling: Properly label, log, and transport specimens to the laboratory for accurate analysis.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control standards, and HIPAA regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of blood collection supplies and equipment.
- Administrative Support: Assist with patient intake, charting, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required (Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification preferred but training provided).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations.
- Professionalism: Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient care and privacy.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
