Responsibilities
- Accurately code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims to maximize reimbursement rates
- Resolve claim denials and discrepancies through effective appeals processes
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing standards
- Generate monthly reports on revenue cycle performance metrics
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with insurance carriers
- Certification in medical coding (CPC, CIC, or equivalent)
- Proficiency in billing software (Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms)
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
