Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identities and accurately label blood specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control, and HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate anxiety.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to streamline patient intake and data entry processes.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent state licensure required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on clinical experience preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when necessary.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer literacy.
