Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count and track surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them for surgery
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical equipment and instruments
- Document procedural information in electronic health records
- Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to ensure seamless surgical workflows
Qualifications
- No prior experience required - comprehensive training provided
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure environments
