Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols, OSHA standards, and HIPAA regulations.
- Accurately label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory for analysis.
- Verify patient identity and medical history to ensure test accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with patients and medical staff to resolve any issues or concerns.
- Manage inventory levels of supplies and ensure the cleanliness of the phlebotomy area.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling systems efficiently.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Phlebotomy Certification (CPT, CNA, or equivalent) required.
- Valid California State Phlebotomy License.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and venipuncture techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional high volume.
- CPR/BLS certification is highly preferred.
