Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws across diverse patient populations
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA/HIPAA standards
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and inventory logs
- Operate automated analyzers and point-of-care testing equipment
- Ensure sterile technique and infection control protocols
- Provide patient education during specimen collection procedures
- Collaborate with nurses and lab staff for seamless care coordination
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficient in specimen handling and processing protocols
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Texas state phlebotomy license (if applicable)
