Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures with precision
- Ensure specimen integrity through proper labeling, handling, and processing protocols
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy during blood collection procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance, OSHA regulations, and infection control standards
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely specimen transport
- Operate and troubleshoot blood collection equipment
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience in acute care setting
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen processing
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced healthcare environments
- Basic computer proficiency for EHR documentation
- CPR/BLS certification required
- TB test and immunization records up to date
