Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Label, process, and transport specimens accurately to laboratory departments
- Maintain sterile work environments and medical equipment calibration
- Provide patient reassurance and education during blood draw procedures
- Document patient information and specimen data in electronic health records
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
- Collaborate with clinical team to ensure seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months clinical experience preferred
- Proficiency in venipuncture and microcollection techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures
- Pass background check and pre-employment health screening
