Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
- Verify patient identification and ensure accuracy of test requisitions.
- Label, process, and store blood samples according to laboratory protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients to minimize anxiety during procedures.
- Maintain a clean and sterile phlebotomy workspace in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as logging patient data and inventory management.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely specimen delivery.
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Certification (ASCP, CPT, or equivalent) required.
- Active State Licensure in Kentucky.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of electronic health records (EHR).
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
