Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures following strict safety protocols
- Label, process, and transport specimens to laboratory departments with 100% accuracy
- Maintain sterile work environments and calibrate equipment daily
- Verify patient identity and provide clear pre/post-procedure instructions
- Document all procedures in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure seamless patient flow
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certification
- Minimum 1 year recent clinical experience in venipuncture
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Proficiency in HIPAA compliance and OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling expertise
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced healthcare environments
- Valid Arizona driver's license (for mobile phlebotomy routes)
- Pass background check and drug screening
