Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages with precision and compassion.
- Ensure accurate labeling and handling of all blood samples for laboratory processing.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized phlebotomy workstation.
- Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure comfort during procedures.
- Verify patient identity and medical information prior to specimen collection.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and HIPAA regulations strictly.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or completion of an accredited phlebotomy program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
