Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure a comfortable environment during blood collection.
- Label, process, and prepare blood samples for laboratory analysis accurately.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control standards, and HIPAA regulations.
- Update and maintain patient charts and medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Assist with inventory management of medical supplies and consumables.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Valid Florida State Phlebotomy license (if applicable).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or laboratory setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle patients with empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer literacy and EHR experience.
