Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Verify patient identity and explain the blood draw procedure to ensure patient comfort and compliance.
- Label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols, OSHA standards, and HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Manage patient queues efficiently and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Assist with inventory management of blood collection supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent).
- Current and valid Phlebotomy license issued by the State of Arizona.
- Previous clinical experience in a hospital, clinic, or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and circulatory systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to de-escalate patient anxiety.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
