Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures following strict aseptic techniques
- Process, label, and transport specimens to laboratory with proper documentation
- Verify patient identity and maintain accurate medical records per HIPAA guidelines
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment including tourniquets and needles
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient comfort
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and infection control protocols
