Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams to translate theoretical quantum models into practical enterprise solutions
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing systems
- Author peer-reviewed publications and secure federal research grants
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum open-source initiatives
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum-classical hybrid architectures
- Present findings at premier conferences (IEEE Quantum Week, APS March Meeting)
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years industry experience
- Publication record in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, PRL) or quantum conferences
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and simulation frameworks
- Proficiency with high-performance computing environments and parallelization techniques
- Demonstrated success in securing competitive research grants or venture funding
- Experience with quantum hardware interfaces (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
