Responsibilities
- Provide advanced cardiac nursing care for critically ill patients post-cardiac surgery
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and interpret ECG rhythms
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on complex care plans
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health management
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Participate in rapid response codes and emergency interventions
- Mentor new staff and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in District of Columbia
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum 2 years ICU/CCU experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Experience with cardiac monitoring equipment and protocols
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
