Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac patients including assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning
- Monitor and interpret EKG rhythms, implement emergency interventions for cardiac events
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure regulatory compliance
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and cardiac research protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- ACLS/BLS certification required (PALS preferred)
- Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience with cardiology focus
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with relevant experience considered)
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Experience with electronic health systems (Epic preferred)
