Responsibilities
- Assess patient health status by performing physical examinations and reviewing medical histories.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians in accordance with medical protocols.
- Monitor patient progress and response to treatments, alerting physicians to any changes in condition.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately in electronic health records.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and critical situations, demonstrating calm and decisive leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in North Carolina.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
