Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care: Assess patient conditions, administer medications, and monitor vital signs under the supervision of senior nursing staff.
- Document patient data: Accurately record patient history, symptoms, and treatment plans in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate with the healthcare team: Communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient status.
- Patient education: Educate patients and families on disease prevention, post-discharge care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Emergency response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist in stabilizing patient conditions.
- Infection control: Adhere to strict hygiene protocols and safety standards to prevent hospital-acquired infections.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Technical proficiency: Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and hospital computer systems.
- Physical stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients (50 lbs), and perform physical tasks as needed.
