Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on evidence-based practice.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Monitor vital signs and patient responses to interventions, promptly reporting any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment in accordance with hospital policies and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a compassionate bedside manner.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
