Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any side effects or changes in condition to the nurse.
- Household Assistance: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and cleaning to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in conversation and social activities to combat loneliness.
- Vital Monitoring: Track and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration) and report significant changes to the supervising healthcare professional.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments and errands as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Minnesota Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or long-term care preferred.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills and a genuine, compassionate demeanor.
