Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments of patient health status and develop individualized care plans based on medical needs.
- Medication Management: Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, patient charts, and incident reports.
- Education: Educate patients and families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Crisis Management: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and acute changes in patient condition.
- Compliance: Adhere to all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and Joint Commission standards.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Washington.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required; Pediatric Life Support (PALS) or similar specialty certification preferred based on unit assignment.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
