Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments of patient health status and document findings accurately.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments according to hospital protocols.
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor vital signs and patient conditions, promptly reporting any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Documentation: Maintain precise and up-to-date medical records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to hygiene and safety standards to prevent hospital-acquired infections.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Diploma).
- Licensure: Valid, unencumbered Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
