Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive direct nursing care to patients in accordance with the nurse practice act and hospital policies and procedures.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs, documenting all findings accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and update individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Respond promptly to emergent situations and code blue alerts, demonstrating critical thinking and leadership.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based committees to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients weighing up to 250 lbs.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems (EMR) such as Epic or Cerner.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
