Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough patient assessments to develop individualized care plans and monitor progress throughout the shift.
- Medication Administration: Safely and accurately administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborative Care: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the wider healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, charting, and patient logs in compliance with legal and hospital standards.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment plans, and discharge instructions to promote recovery at home.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies, utilizing critical thinking skills to stabilize patients.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are required.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical equipment.
