Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments to identify health needs and develop appropriate care plans.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing team or physician immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) detailing patient care, responses to treatment, and progress.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease management, medication side effects, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and safety standards to protect patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ASN or BSN) within the last 12 months.
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of New Mexico.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required; NRP preferred for Pediatrics.
- Experience: No prior clinical experience required; New Graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Compassion: Demonstrated empathy and a genuine desire to help patients recover and maintain their quality of life.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills and comfort with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
