Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across diverse units during night shift hours
- Administer medications and treatments accurately per physician orders
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs, symptoms, and response to care
- Document patient observations and interventions in electronic health records
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to develop care plans
- Respond promptly to emergency situations with calm professionalism
- Mentor new staff and ensure adherence to hospital protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in District of Columbia
- BSN degree (ADN candidates with 2+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 1 year acute care nursing experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced night shift environment
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic preferred)
