Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during overnight hours, including assessment, medication administration, and treatment implementation
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
- Monitor and respond to patient changes in condition, utilizing critical thinking skills to prioritize interventions
- Accurately document patient information and maintain electronic health records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Lead emergency response protocols and code blue situations during night shifts
- Provide guidance to junior staff and nursing students during clinical rotations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active California RN license (or compact license with CA endorsement)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; ADN candidates with 2+ years experience considered
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience in a hospital setting
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (PALS preferred)
- Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health record systems (EPIC experience preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities during night shifts
