Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status 24/7 to ensure optimal recovery and safety.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Respond promptly to code blue alerts and emergency situations.
- Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and families during the night shift.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
- Flexibility to work rotating night shifts, holidays, and weekends.
