Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in telemetry/step-down units including ECG monitoring, medication administration, and wound care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records
- Monitor and respond to changing patient conditions, including emergency situations
- Educate patients and families on disease management, discharge planning, and medication protocols
- Maintain strict compliance with JCAHO, OSHA, and hospital policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement projects
Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license (compact license accepted)
- BSN degree preferred; ADN candidates with 2+ years experience considered
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC/PALS preferred
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience in telemetry, ICU, or step-down setting
- Strong proficiency in electronic medical documentation systems
- Demonstrated critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication abilities and cultural sensitivity
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
